WHITEOWL Side Panel Extension

SUPPORT

Get help with WhiteOwl Side Panel.

Find answers about installation, token context, chat sessions, optional HTTPS backend configuration, privacy, and bug reports.

Setup

Install the extension from Chrome, open the side panel, and use the Token and Chat tabs. A backend URL is optional and must use HTTPS.

Troubleshooting

Common side panel issues and how to resolve them.

The side panel does not open

Open Chrome Extensions, confirm WhiteOwl is enabled, then open the extension side panel from the browser toolbar or Extensions menu.

Chat replies are not appearing

Chat requires an HTTPS backend URL that you configure. If no backend URL is set, the extension keeps chat locally but cannot return AI responses.

The backend URL is rejected

The current extension accepts HTTPS backend URLs only. Plain HTTP and localhost URLs are not accepted by the published package.

I want to clear local data

Remove the extension, clear extension storage in Chrome, or clear saved chat sessions from the side panel where available.

Does the extension read websites or browsing history?

No. The current package does not request host permissions, tabs, history, cookies, activeTab, webRequest, scripting, or content scripts.

Report a Bug

Found something broken? Include the extension version, browser version, steps to reproduce, and side panel console errors if available.
